LOKI´S PORTUGUESE TILES
For the premiere of "Loki" on Disney+, The Walt Disney Company Portugal and artist João Lemos collaborated to create a unique tile artwork displayed in Lisbon's Marquês de Pombal area. This piece, made from over 700 hand-painted tiles, features a 15-square-meter panel of the Marvel villain Loki. Developed in partnership with the ceramic factory Viúva Lamego, the project blends modern art with traditional Portuguese tile techniques. The specially developed paints and two kiln firings resulted in a detailed and culturally significant homage to the series and Portuguese heritage. The artwork was completed over eight weeks and coincides with the show's launch.
